A Case Study

National Association of Minority Engineers

Message: NACME wanted to excite interest in math and science among young minority students by using the lastest in information and design technology.

Media: We built a web site that featured cartoon characters based on math symbols. Students could play Shockwave games, solve puzzles, and interact with characters in flashy "urban" costumes. Plus, an online database allowed parents to quickly find qualified math and science tutors close to them.

Results: The "Math is Power site that we developed won an Edison Educational Award. NACME found that the site helped to spark tremendous enthusiasm among their targeted students.
