Complex Video and Data Systems for Leading Multinational Clients
Pihana Pacific
Brand Development, Multi-Channel Marketing Strategy, Web Site Design, System Architecture, Web Application Development, and Copywriting
Pihana first came to us as Pixie, a company with record setting VC funding and a mission to provide US companies with a partner for expansion into Asia. They needed ideas on branding and maximizing the effectiveness of their Web site.
We developed an initial site that would help them attract customers, reassure investors, recruit new staff, and generate sales. Our database expertise built a content manager that kept the brand in synch across 5 languages and cultures. And, we did it in only two months.
Next, we created a re-branded version of the site and developed a comprehensive multi-channel marketing plan, establishing Asia’s first-branded built and managed neutral Internet exchange data centers. They later told us it would have taken them a year to do it themselves. This gave Pihana both credibility and media exposure, leading to their successful merger with Equinix (a publicly traded company).
Sumitomo
Information Design, Web Site Development, Application Development, Database Development
This long-established Asian conglomerate had little experience on the Internet. Their existing site was heavy on “brochureware” and low on ease of use and interactivity. We sat down with them, developed three “user models” and completely restructured the site to address users’ needs and highlight how Sumitomo could solve their problems.
The result was a 500% increase in weekly sales inquiries — for a company whose leads can be worth millions of dollars in sales.
Web and Interactive Projects
NACME
(National Association of Minority Engineers)
Cartoon Character Design and Animation, Web Development, Database Development
NACME asked us to build a Web site designed to excite interest in math and science among young minority students. The Edison-Award winning “Math is Power” site featured cartoon characters based on math symbols. Students could play Shockwave games, solve puzzles, and interact with characters in flashy “urban” costumes. Plus, an online database allowed parents to quickly find qualified math and science tutors.
Innovedia
Systems Design, Mobile Content Delivery
Innovedia wanted to deliver ad content to consumers on the go. We devised a system that put wireless Internet ads, movie trailers, and news into taxis. It could even be GPS enabled, allowing local businesses to serve ads offering coupons or discounts to passing riders.
